Great to be back at Gatcombe!
We had Priorspark Oppostion Free running in the CIC2*. Having had a bit of time off he was very much there for qualification purposes, as it’s still early days with him. But he loved being out, and he did a super trainable and consistent dressage. He was early to go so perhaps wasn’t rewarded as he could have been for his work. With one mistake in the half pirouette the rest of the test was great.
He flew round the cross country on the Sunday with a few planned time penalties but giving me a fun ride – he is so genuine.
Unfortunately he just breathed on two rails in the SJ, in which there were few clears, due to the format running SJ after the XC phase. Nonetheless it was a great result finishing just outside the top 20 in a class field of horses.
Renaissance Man had a run in the Intermediate with a mistake Free test for a 33. He had two rails but jumped a very confident clear in the XC. He is very exciting and at the moment we are choosing to educate him rather than run him fast so that we can save him for the big competitions. He goes to Osberton CICYH** next!
