I had three horses competing at the Young Horse Championships at Osberton – 6 year old Renaissance Man (Renny) in the CICYH*, Lupicorde (Ludo) in the 4yo Championships, and Priorspark Opposition Free (Coco) in the CCI*.
Renny did a great dressage for what he is capable of at this stage scoring 53. His test was much improved from his last CIC* test at Great Witchingham where he scored 51, so at the time I was disappointed with the mark, but the standard was very high and he had a couple of green errors. All the same it was very pleasing. He jumped a brilliant SJ round just tapping the last fence which was unlucky and jumped a faultless round XC feeling SOOO exciting. I took him at the pace I felt he should run so he had 4 time to add.
Ludo in the 4yo Championships scored 33 in the dressage, and jumped a brilliant double clear to finish 10th meaning that he had a mounted prize giving.. very excited about him for next year and thrilled that Sue Brankin Frisby has bought a half share so that I can keep him! 🙂
Coco started off very well in the CCI* with a respectable 42 dressage. Due to some setbacks in her fitness we decided to drop her down from the CIC**. She went XC well, however wasn’t feeling on form on the Sunday and had a very disappointing SJ.
