STODDART DEFENDS FIVE-YEAR-OLD TITLE
Today the best five-year-old horses in Great Britain came together to contest the 2020 British Eventing Tigga’s Saddlery Five-Year-Old Championship at Oasby, Lincolnshire. Defending Champion Eliza Stoddart was once again victorious, taking the win with her own, Georgina Stoddart, Heather Sandell and Sue Brankin Frisby’s De Pleasure.
De Pleasure, a grey Hannoverian gelding (Diacontinus x For You) jumped a double clear inside the time to complete on their impressive dressage score of 28.0. Topping off a fantastic 2020 eventing season, De Pleasure adds the Championship title to his five other top-ten finishes at BE100 level.
Eliza commented, “De Pleasure is a wonderful young horse who has been ultra-consistent all season. He has the most incredible temperament and gives me such a great feel. He has matured throughout the season and was obviously saving his best for the big occasion! He is as talented, as he is eye catching. I am hugely grateful to his special co-owners, Susie Brankin Frisby, my grandmother Heather Sandell and my mum Georgina Stoddart. I won in 2019 on Codebreaker for the same partnership, so to do it again was very exciting”.
