Eliza Stoddart and PRIORSPARK OPPOSITION FREE

Burghley

We experienced the Eventing rollercoaster weekend at Burghley! Anne Staley’s Priorspark Opposition Free was entered in the CCI5*. We were drawn on Thursday late morning for dressage and he performed a really special test to take the lead on 28. It was great to be rewarded for a good test up against some really top riders on the first day.

Friday was the young event horse day. The 5yos really showed everything they had learnt during the season, Codebreaker jumping an amazing clear, and finishing 7th. Ramonda having a few green moments but overall giving me a really good feel of what’s to come! We then had a quick change over to ride De Pleasure and Kraziano in the 4yo final! De Pleasure had the worst of the weather but finished 3rd. Kraziano jumper arguably the best round of the day for a beautiful scopey clear round!

Saturday’s cross country in the 5* was a huge test. Sadly it didn’t go to plan for us resulting in a fall. This was our first fall together during the six seasons with Priorspark Opposition Free, and up to this point we have enjoyed some great rounds together, Bramham and Chatsworth this season being great examples… I’m hoping that we can move into the 2020 season with some solid 4* form.
